Who’s actually on the ground once you land
Rooetd is a small UK team, so who’s actually driving, guiding and checking you in once you’re in India? The honest answer, and how we choose who does it.
17 August 2026
Short answer: we plan and book your trip from the UK, but once you land, a local team on the ground handles every hotel check-in, transfer, guide and driver, not us. That’s how land-only trips normally work, and it’s worth saying plainly rather than letting anyone assume a Rooetd rep is waiting at arrivals.
The situation
We’re upfront on the About page about being a small, UK-based team. Read literally, that raises a fair question: once you’ve actually landed, who’s running things? Nobody meets you off a Rooetd payroll at Indira Gandhi International. What happens instead is that a local team, based in India, who’ve been coordinating trips like this for decades (long before Rooetd existed), takes over the moment your flight lands, and handles every moving part until you fly home.
That’s not a compromise. It’s how it should work. A UK office isn’t the right place to know which train genuinely leaves on time, which guide actually knows a temple’s history rather than a script, or which driver you want handling a Himalayan mountain road at dusk. That knowledge lives in India, with people who’ve spent their careers there.
What that actually looks like
Booking, pricing, and building your itinerary happen with us, in pounds, with no separate agent for you to find. Everything from the airport pickup onward (hotels, transfers, guides, drivers, the day-to-day of actually being in India) is coordinated by our trusted local partners. You deal with one team throughout planning; on the ground, you’re in the hands of people who do this every day, in the country they know.
A couple of clips below give a real sense of the kind of experience that team puts together: not stock footage, not staged for us.
Who we actually work with
We’re not going to publish a name-dropped roster here: which hotel, which driver, which specific guide shifts trip to trip and season to season, and we don’t think a list makes the point better than the footage does. What we’ll say is that our ground team has been doing this since long before Rooetd existed, and if you want a sense of what that actually looks like from people who’ve genuinely travelled with them, here are real reviews on TripAdvisor: not ones we picked, and not ones we paid for.
What this means for a Rooetd traveller
If something comes up once you’re travelling (a delay, a change of plan, a question about tomorrow’s pickup), your local team handles it directly and in real time, and we’re reachable from the UK if you need us too. You’re never relying on a single point of contact eight time zones away for something that needs sorting on the ground, right now.
Before you go
- Save the local team’s contact details (we’ll send them with your final itinerary) alongside ours: for anything time-sensitive once you’ve landed, they’re faster to reach.
- Don’t expect a Rooetd-branded pickup sign at the airport. Your driver will have your name and flight details, arranged before you fly.
- If a guide, driver or hotel doesn’t meet the standard you expected, tell us. We stay in the loop on every trip specifically so we can act on that, not just apologise for it.
Not stock footage, not staged for us
Real footage from the ground, the same texture you’ll find once you’re there.
